Borchetta Bourbon Takes Home the Gold & Double Gold!

Big Machine Distillery is proud to announce that our inaugural Borchetta Bourbon took home the Gold in the American Craft Spirits Packaging Awards and Double Gold from the John Barleycorn Society, both the highest honors in their respective categories for its unique bottle and outstanding box design. Big Machine Distillery is proud of our design and production teams who took part in the concept and design to win these two distinguished awards.

American Craft Spirits Association judged their entries on excellence and creativity in the design of labels and packaging. This is the only registered national nonprofit trade group representing the U.S. craft spirits industry. Borchetta Bourbon took the top award from 150 entries from more than 70 companies.

Additionally, Borchetta Bourbon took home Double Gold in both “Product Story/Description” and “Display/Presentation Box” awarded by the John Barleycorn Society. The John Barleycorn Society was started by a group of spirits journalists seeking to honor excellence in all facets of the industry. This competition was overseen by the Association of Marketing & Communications Professionals.

What makes the Borchetta Bourbon bottle and design so special? It starts with the bottle’s cork topper which features a miniature bronze finished statuette of the Marmon Wasp, the iconic winning car of the first 500 mile race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1911. The original of which still resides today in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame.

The 1911 racing theme for this single barrel, cask strength bourbon made 100% in-house at Big Machine, is continued on the bottle label with an image from one of the earliest known open-wheel races held at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds Speedway that same year.

Why the racing theme? As is illuminated on the bottle label and box, this first-ever Borchetta Bourbon release pays homage to the family’s passion and ties to the motorsport world. It was released in conjunction with the inaugural Big Machine Music City Grand Prix IndyCar race held in Nashville, TN in August of 2021.

Borchetta Bourbon is the perfect gift this holiday season for the craft spirits enthusiast in your life – or simply treat for yourself! You can enjoy a pour or purchase a bottle at any of Big Machine Distillery’s three tasting rooms. The spirit can also be found in select stores shown on www.borchettabourbon.com. Only a limited allocation is available.
