The Big Machine Music City Grand Prix was not only a successful event for downtown Nashville bringing in thousands of race fans, but it also helped benefit local nonprofit Rocketown, a Christian teen outreach center. Rocketown’s vision is “to be the place of peace, purpose, and possibilities for youth.” Big Machine Distillery, Nashville Sports Council, and Music City Grand Prix took part in hosting a Mini Grand Prix which included a pedal car race for children ages four to eight. Kids were creative in decorating their carts and suited up in their favorite racing gear.

The Mini Grand Prix had two separate races divided by age groups including ages four to five, and ages six to eight. The pedal car race was held in the heart of downtown Nashville on Lower Broadway between 2nd and 4th Avenues. The Mini Grand Prix helped kick off the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix weekend and all proceeds from the race and cart purchasing went towards supporting Nashville’s youth. The event ended up being a huge success raising over $34,000 to help benefit Rocketown.
